Whoopsy!
Sorry, I used a scratch area on my web site to hist the images, and cleared off the old ones to get some space. I appear to have used the same file names for some photos from Moldova!

That's right too. Stella gives me the shape with its inner parts and the stellation diagram, which I need to design my nets. Unfortunately stella does not allow the user to export the diagram in a vector format, which could be very useful for me. Ulrich Have you tried software to convert from bitma...

Thanks, found it.

But why does yours have so many homes compared with the Stella one? Sorry if that's a dumb question...

Up to now, the greatest polyhedral challenge to me was W 108, the Great Truncated Icosidodecahedron. http://www.polyedergarten.de/w108/w108_04.jpg This model has a diameter of about 40 cm. I never counted the number of facelets, but I know that I needed 153 sheets of paper for it. I used 14 colours...

Initial impressions

I got the program Stella 4d yesterday, so these are early impressions. Installation was extremely fast and simple, as was entering the activation code. It's not tied to the hardware, so there should be no pain when I upgrade my computer! I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it handled even very...

Nice stuff :D So these were rendered with Lightwave? What format are you exporting from Stella? .OBJ? Rob. Yes it's Lightwave, and I exported in OBJ. The edge rounding is very rough and ready (where used), and I was lazy with the backdrop. I'm generally using a gradient on the colour, so it varies ...

My first day with Stella, some diogital renderings...

These were all done in my first session with Stella, so they are a bit rough and ready, but I'm still quite pleased!

I hope you will consider auto export sequences for a future release - I'll have to try and tempt you by doing something impressive manually! I don't doubt it could be impressive, along with direct export of video. Currently though the only way to see the animations is within Stella. If people start...

I seriously impressed with the effort and skill that has gone into these models - personally I am planning on doing everything digitally, and it's likely to stay that way until someone makes a hobby knife with an undo button... Just bought my copy of Stella a couple of hours ago and really looking f...

Hi Robert and thanks for such a comprehensive answer. I hope you will consider auto export sequences for a future release - I'll have to try and tempt you by doing something impressive manually! I don't do a large amount of downloads on my web pages, so databases of objects are right out! Which woul...

A few questions...

I am considering buying Stella 4d, and have a few questions... I am mainly interested in the export of objects for use in 3d graphics software. I see some great possibilities for 'chrome' models, or sticking a volumetric light at the centre of the ones with holes, or even using refractive glass! Is ...
