I tried it in the following way:

Take the compound of 5 tetrahedra and put it into memory 1. Then take Millers Monster, select a pentagram (they all should be red in the auto colour option), you hit c and you slightly shift the red colour a bit lighter or darker to avoid colour conflicts in the ...

Pretty magic and cryptic I know! Ideally someday I should make the add-from-memory a bit more clever about orientations!
And doing that, could you please take care of the "put models on faces"-tool too?

But... my problem seems to be the position of the added Rh. Pr. in the cube- as you mentioned already.
I work on 2 pc's and both show the Rh.Pr. rotated somehow in the cube. See picture.

Seems that I was a little too hasty describing the procedure. In the rh prism, there are 8 edges where squares and rhombs meet at 90° and 4 edges where only squares meet. At two of the latter ones, the squares are forming an acute angle (=> "acute edges"), at the other ones the angle is shallow ...

Jos,

it can be constructed quickly in the following way:

You choose the triangular prism (hit 3,4,4 and ok in the search field). You put this into memory 1. Then you select a square face and augment it by the model in the memory 1 (selected face only, and right (->), to get the orientation ok ...

... Doing it your way also means that you could facet
using the original vertices of the trapezoidal hexacontahedron to keep
the original face shapes around the bottom.

Rob.

Unfortunately that doesn't work because the four vertices you need are
not lying in a plane. I had to take the ...

Perhaps a new occasion to think about enhancing that "put models
on faces/vertices-tool"?

Re: Help Please! How do I do this...

Mitch,

this is another way to get to it, perhaps a little bit faster:

You first construct a base model, starting from a 10-fold prism and using the
augmentation techniques Robert described:

Then you put the ...

You load the Rhombicuboctahedron and click on the fifth icon from the right in
the last row (onmouseover you see "Morph Duals by Expansion"). Then you
keep the ctrl-button pressed, click the left mouse button and pull the mouse to
the right. Rectangles appear between the base model's faces and in ...

You can morph the rhombicuboctahedron to its dual by expansion up to say 20 %,
save it to the memory and retrieve it again. Then you do the augmentation of the
squares and the triangles:

Re: Hello again, Ulrich!

it seems to line up 4 points on a straight line which is a single axis when viewed from above.

That is correct. If you hit "s" in stella 4D, you can see the rotation axes. There are 4 3-fold ones in the compound of two tetrahedra.

could you tell me if that is correct in the tet2_2k2.gif ...
