Here's my first attempt: http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd237/RobertCWebb/Base.gif I used faceting mode to create a separate cupola (the cap above the red line), then augmented one of these to another at the top pentagon, then used faceting mode again to create the convex hull of this but with a...

Maybe sometime. You'd probably be one of the only people who'd know how to use that feature!

I don't see any mention of "vertical" on that link you sent.

Did he send you a physical copy of the paper? If he just emailed it, maybe you could forward it to me. I'd be interested to have a look, whether or not I'm able to make any sense of it myself :?

Ah, excellent idea for a thread. You asked me about this once before and I don't think I ever got back to you  Not sure Quith would work very well. How are you thinking of breaking up the octagram arms? The Net of hexagon duoprism is an interesting choice. For anyone reading with Stella4D, it'...

One problem with adding new features like this, and other features that customise the game-play, is whether I would also then have to support local/world records for them, and for all combinations of them. It gets kind of unweildy, but then it's a shame to let that limit what features can be added. ...

I'm not familiar with these polyhedra. How does "Vertical" have meaning with regard to polyhedra? Do you have a link to a site describing these polyhedra in more detail? Probably no new feature is required in Stella for this. Just need someone to figure out the face normals and put them into "Stella...

The yawn always scares me, if I have sound on. It happens after a lengthy delay without opening a tile, so it happens when I've either forgotten about the game, or I'm concentrating on figuring out where to go next.

Quick tips: Loading Platonic solids quickly

Most likely all users know how to load the Platonic solids into Stella, but do you know the fastest way? It can be done very quickly just via the keyboard. First use Ctrl+N (same as File->Polyhedron List , the N stands for New, as in loading a new model). Then enter the first letter of one of the fi...

Looks like a nice model, complete with advertising space  For anyone not sure how to recreate such a model, here's how: Load an icosahedron (Ctrl+N, i, Enter) Create a geodesic version (Ctrl+G, or Poly->Create Geodesic Sphere ) Choose the frequency (3 for the above model). Then view the dual. R...

What I'm refering to, is taking a list of vertices (but you dont have a polychoron loaded) and finding the convex hull - as opposed to writing a huge 4D OFF file describing edges, faces, and cells. Oh, OK. I can probably add that sometime. If a 4D OFF is loaded with only vertices, it should ask if ...

I think whether it works or not may depend on the internal order of the faces of the verf (vertex figure). Oh, so once you get it to work, make sure you save the 3D vertex figure you used. Then hopefully it will work again next time. If you didn't save it before generating the 4D compound, you can ...

Hmm, I don't know that anything changed in that part of the code between 4.3 and 4.4! I think whether it works or not may depend on the internal order of the faces of the verf (vertex figure). If you create the verf via faceting, you get to create the faces in whatever order you want. The problem wi...

One idea I've had is to add a hall-of-fame for MineSweeper3D, where users are ranked according to how many boards they have completed. You may come in at number one if I get around to it! :-)

Ah, this is already possible! Just select "Poly->Create Convex Hull" from the menu with a 4D polytope loaded.
