Re: equalize only some edge lengths
Stella doesn't currently have an equalise-edge function anyway. It can try to make faces regular, but this also means equalising the angles. I have been experimenting with code to simply equalise edge lengths, but it applies to all. We don't have a multi-select for edges, but I might be able to make...

Re: Net for cuboctahedron from tetrahedra+octagons? and Torus
Sorry, I meant to come back to this. You would need 8 tetrahedra and 6 square pyramids (half octahedra), but not sure what you mean by a skeletal net. I think of a net as how a polyhedron unfolds into 2D, but that's not what you mean. I think you mean just the faces of the tetrahedra and pyramids th...

Re: make stella4d open source
You thought people work for free? Donations might work for a product with very wide appeal. Small percentage of people using it would donate a small amount, so only works with huge audience. Stella has an extremely niche market appeal. And it's not expensive. I've certainly paid more for other softw...

Re: make stella4d open source
Your requests mostly come across more as demands or even threats (what's this nonsense about being sued?). This only motivates me more to NOT do what you're demanding I do. Spamming the same demand multiple times doesn't help and only wastes my time. I worked on Stella for many years. At one point I...

Re: Program Crashes Scaling Inradius
I fixed this already, but won't be available till the next release which will be a while. You're right that Archimedean solids don't have a single inradius, that is, not all faces are at the same distance from the centre. But it still shows one of the inradii and you should be allowed to change it. ...

Re: Stepping through stellations
No, it goes one at a time. You can hold down the up-arrow though to continuously move through them. Another thing you can do is start by selecting one or more cells you want, and it will try to continue from there. Going 20 at a time, or any other fixed number, wouldn't help much. There are often tr...

Re: Coincident edges
No Stella keeps them separate, so edges with 4 faces would count as two edges each with two faces.
But what you're seeing is only a warning, not an error. Just click OK and it should be fine.

Re: Strange rendering anomaly in Great Stella
Part of the base shows, but the central region is missing. This is because there's no enclosed volume above or below it. Nets are based on active stellation cells, and in this case there's no stellation cell above or below, so that part of the face is missing from the nets. It's not ideal, but you c...

Re: why stella4d can't autocolor 4d OFFs without color information, as opposed to 3d
When you say "can't" do you mean by "doesn't by default"? Probably because it's completely different code and I didn't even know it behaved differently. But can't you simply select "Color->BasicColor Scheme->Auto Color" from the menu? Or easier hit Tab once or twice (it toggles between single and au...
