4D stellations
I wanted to create 3D stellation patterns for 4D regulars, and I figured out how to do it I'm just missing one step that maybe someone would be able to help me out with. The patterns just consist of sets of planes in a 3D realm and are easy to create with Stella. The problem I have is how do I calcu...

Re: 4D Compounds from verf
Yes they are still two faces in the total count, but Stella is able to differentiate types for viewing. In 4D that is not the case, it considers them all the same type of cell and you can't display the different instances. Also in the cell viewing option it will say "x cells of this type" referring ...

Re: 4D Compounds from verf
Another thing that makes compounds confusing in stella 4D is that in the info it counts each cell and vertex separately even the ones that are corealmic/coincident.
Also I couldn't rename the duals of 4Ds created from verf without resaving them as straight 4Ds.
Thanks for all your help.

Re: 4D Compounds from verf
I was able to make more compounds from verfs if I facetted that 10gax one that was built in and modifying the 5oct compound:
But I couldn't get any others to work.

Re: 4D Compounds from verf
If I take the compound of 10gax included with Stella4D, choose the vertex figure, press convert to base model, then try to create Uniform 4D it doesn't work. So what is the way you created the original file that allows it to work?

4D Compounds from verf
I'm having inconsistency in being able to create 4D compounds from compound verf. Sometimes it works and sometimes not even from the same verf, for example the compound of 2 icosahedra should create a compound of 10 ex, but I was only able to do that once and now it doesn't work. Also 2 dodecahedra ...

Re: Non-Uniform 4D
Here's my completed set of all segmentachora! Had to split it into 2 zip files because it's bigger than 256kb.
The Last 4 in the list I used a heptagon as an example.

Re: Non-Uniform 4D
Didn't think I could but just checking.
Thanks.
I'll post a zip file of all the segmentachora when I finish them.
Thanks.

Re: Non-Uniform 4D
I'm making .stel files of all the segmetochora, I was wondering if there is any way to embed in a file the ability to ask for a prism number and create something from that prism/antiprism like in the n-gonal prism built-in file. Thanks

Curved Shapes
It would be great if there was a option to smooth out certain edges in order to create curved shapes. The two adjacent faces could be considered one curved surface. In 4D also you could have curved cells. The inner geometry would still just be an approximation but the view could look curved and the ...

Re: Non-Uniform 4D
I figured out the problem: I was using the wrong formula to calculate the vertices so the ones I had were creating coplanar faces so that's probably why it was crashing. Once I fixed the formula it worked no problems.

Re: Non-Uniform 4D
I made the following .off file but when I open it in stella4d and ask it to make convex hull the program crashes. Do you know what could be the problem?
cylindrical crind.off

Re: Non-Uniform 4D
Yes, convex hull is what I need and it works just fine. Thanks again
