Solved twisty puzzle

For general discussion of polyhedra, not necessarily Stella-specific.

Solved twisty puzzle

Post by robertw » Sun Feb 10, 2019 3:49 am

After sitting scrambled on my shelf for years, I finally figured out how to solve this beautiful puzzle! Seen here sitting on the page of scribbles made while solving.

This looks like a really huge attainment, congratulations!
These Rubik‘s-like puzzles are much too hard for me and they take far too much time.
And I must confess that I‘d rather see you working on new features in the Stella program  :D

The standard Rubik's cube and many of its variations aren't too hard once you know a few basic principles. I gave a 7x7x7 cube, a teraminx and various other twisty puzzles which aren't too hard, although they may take a long time due to the number of pieces. This one though, the "curvy starminx", was much harder to wrap my head around. The sequences aren't actually very complicated though in the end.

This didn't take much time away from Stella, but writing music has! https://soundcloud.com/robertcwebb

There's too many things to work on and not enough time.

Oh, that‘s cool and I willingly believe that it is great fun to create such things. „Treat“ is my favorite and I think there is even some King Crimson shining through.

And I've never even listened to King Crimson :)
