Compound of all three stellations of the Dodecahedron

Post by indigotwilight » Fri May 20, 2011 11:16 am

Just finished my latest model. It is a compound of the small stellated, great and great stellated dodecahedron.
This was also the first time I used double tabs, so it represents a new development in my technique too. I have found the model is a lot more rigid and was surprisingly easier to put together than anticipated. The tedious bit was transferring the nets printed from Stella4d onto card, scoring and cutting out.

I used 300gsm canford card and 220gsm gold mirror board for the model.
I'm quite satisfied with how it turned out.

Here's the model, which I've named 'The Azure Sunburst':

Very nice model. You did very well with those large spikes given the combination of double tabs and thick card. Thanks for sharing it.
