Re: More faceting criteria
I'm not familiar with tame polyhedra. What's the idea behind that? Have you found that three coplanar edges at a vertex comes up a lot? And vertex-transitive faces. Hmm, wouldn't that limit it to regular faces? Maybe you can post an example or two? You can click the "Add image to post" link under th...

Re: Ability to facet vertex figures/edge facet
Both good ideas. Might be a while before I can look into adding them, but I'll add them to the to-do list.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: 4D stellations
Yes many do, and many don't. Models like the snub cube, or compound of five tetrahedra have lots of rotational symmetry, but no mirror symmetry.

Re: A few pics
Hi Robin, I don't know where you saw the "mu" variable. You can find "Symmetry Group" in the glossary here: https://www.software3d.com/Glossary.php#symgroup It's just the collection of symmetries that an object has, eg reflection in a plane, or rotation around an axis. All I meant was to start with ...

Re: A few pics
You want to combine compounds that already have the same symmetry group, then they should be aligned.
Before putting them into a memory slot, make sure they're all the same scale by setting "Scale->Base Polyhedron Radius" to the same value for each.

Re: Built Models of Compound Polyhedra
I think I just called them A and B at random. They may have more formal names.

Looks great! And a great example for using such a method.

Re: Constructing models with transparent faces?
Late reply, but I haven't been active on this forum so much (forgat checking actively) Anyway.. The answer is: yes, I did. I made some models of polychora. I use plastic overhead sheets, on which I printed a little bit of colour. One result is here: https://i.postimg.cc/TLq2QptS/Rect5-Cell.jpg Here...

Re: On display in Finland
I wasn't there and haven't visited the Bridges Conference for quite some years. Not even the one in Sweden (where I live). During that time I was hiking in the Swedish mountains up in the North. Next year's Bridges is in Finland again, and I hope I can be there. Nice to see your models, Robert! Sor...

Pieces pop out easily if you try to operate it, but it's easy enough to put them back in (hopefully the right way around!)marcelteun wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 8:07 amNever seen this one. That is an awesome model, Robert! Is it still in one piece?

Thanks Marcel.
The link still works for me. Try it again maybe? Does it work for others?
